structure three education departments.
The faculty of
Veterinary Medicine Timisoara is full member of The European
Association of Establishment for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) since
1990, and is preparing for European accreditation (the preliminary
accreditation visit took place in 1998).
In our faculty there
are the University Veterinary Clinics (Internal Diseases, Surgery,
Obstetrics & Gynecology, Parasitological Diseases, Infectious
Diseases, Radiology), for the students’ practical activity
during the semesters. These clinics are equipped with adequate
investigation, diagnostic, and intervention facilities, as well as a
small veterinary hospital.
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
Timisoara owns ultimate performance laboratory analysis technology
acquired in 2001 – 2002, within a program financed by The World
Bank: Spectrophotometer with atomic absorption, UV VIS
Spectrophotometer, Microwave digestion, Kjeldahl, Automatic
computerized ELISA line (photometry), Computerized Hematological
analyzer.
The faculty has, also, proper research bases in the
epidemiological field, equipped by an European program (EPIRO - VET),
and adequate conditions in order to study and research in hygiene,
environmental protection, animal welfare, microbiology, immunology,
hygiene of animal origin food, and veterinary public health.
The
courses are lectured by highly qualified academic staff, using modern
teaching and training methods. A great part of the staff has attended
postgraduate training courses in well known European faculties (Royal
Veterinary College London, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Alfort, Toulouse,
Lyon, Utrecht, Vienna, Munich, Budapest, Ljubljana, Naples).
